Pre-Beauty Expo Excitement

I was among beauty media treated to a sneak peek of beauty expo goodness yesterday morning with a luxe morning tea and a little pre-expo pampering at FiftyFour Park Street Day Spa. Champagne, croissants and cupcakes made the perfect accompaniment to talk of eyebrow shaping, nail colours, beauty trends and consumer behaviour. The morning tea was the perfect little sampler of what to expect at beauty expo next weekend. It has whet my appetite for a weekend full of all things spa and beauty!

Event Director Julia Erben opened proceedings, explaining “as some of our greatest supporters we wanted to celebrate with you, and give you the opportunity for individual conversations with our artists and contributors.”

Some of the expo’s key artists and contributors were on hand to chat and demonstrate their talents. Mia Cassin, the Media Manager for True Solutions represented the exhibitors on show at the expo, speaking passionately about the diversity of current consumer demands. “Savvy spas are on the forefront of business by using certain brands that show they are industry leaders, not followers” Mia explained, before stating that the expo is a proven success for them, “it changes our business by getting us to our clients.”

Melinda O’Rourke; Director of MO Luxury represented the Business Leaders Summit (one of the expo’s hottest tickets) as one of its key speakers, Megan Armfield; Senior Makeup Artist at Becca Cosmetics, one of the expo’s main stage stars offered makeup touch-ups, tips and explained the Becca Cosmetics beauty philosophy: “it’s all about a glowing complexion. If you’ve got beautiful, flawless skin, then everything else just falls into place.” There were certainly some gorgeous, glowing faces in the room after she had worked her magic.

Brow Artist Jazz Pampling (who has two brow shaping seminars at the expo) had me mesmerised with her incredible brow shaping skills and advice, and had no shortage of volunteers for a taste of her patented shaping treatment. Nail Competition Coordinator Tracy Boyle, who will bring her international nail industry expertise to this years awards, was also available to talk nails and even demonstrated with a gel manicure.
